Ian Condliffe is an independent consultant with over 30 years experience delivering solutions and advice to governments and industry leaders in agriculture, land classification, land management, agri-environment policy and scheme implementation.
He is a specialist in upland environmental systems, common land and Less Favoured Area (LFA) policy. For fifteen years he was the Principal Technical Adviser to Defra for England's upland agricultural and environmental policies and research.
His main interest is to seek a balanced, sustainable approach to rural development where all peoples' livelihoods are enhanced by a healthy and working countryside.
Using his comprehensive and detailed understanding of land use issues, Ian has successfully delivered consultancy solutions across Europe and further afield including Canada and a number of countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
